The wonderful world of malt!

Hi Guys! I'm back!

Question:What's malt? like malted milk or malt vinager. I didn't know, so i decided to find out! The following text is completely copied and pasted, mostly from wikkipedia.

Answer: Malting is the controlled germination of cereals, followed by a termination of this natural process by the application of heat. Malted grain is used to make beer, whisky, and malt vinegar. Malted milk is a powdered food product made from a mixture of malted barley, wheat flour, and whole milk, which are evaporated until it forms a powder.

related info:

Ovaltine: a brand of milk flavoring product made with sugar (except in Switzerland), malt extract, cocoa, and whey. Originally advertised as consisting solely of "malt, milk, eggs, flavored with cocoa", the formulation has changed over the decades (at one point containing irradiated yeast (holy goats!) in the US), and today several different formulations are sold in different parts of the world.

Horlicks is a similar drink mix. The product's name has entered the vernacular as a substitute for the profanity "bollocks." This was exploited by the company in a 1990s advertising campaign, in which a harassed housewife exclaims "Horlicks" in a context where a stronger term could have been expected, thus widening the term's exposure and usage for a while.
The term was used in July 2003 by British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw ("a complete Horlicks") to describe irregularities in the preparation and provenance of a dossier regarding weapons of mass destruction in Iraq (HA!).
